Mary Virginia Rouge

Mary Virginia Rouge, 88, of Wappapello, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mary was born December 17, 1935, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Luther Fuel and Mary G. (Peacock) Fuel.  Mary married Charles J. Rouge in 1982.

She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and board games.  In high school Mary was a majorette, played softball, and basketball and later coached softball.   She loved to travel, cook for her family, and spend time with her family.  Mary loved animals and would take in every stray she met.  Mary had a beautiful soul who never knew a stranger.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Charles Rouge; three sons, Charles Boschert of Wappapello, Joseph Boschert of Cape Girardeau, James Boschert of Missouri; five daughters, Charlotte (John) Bryant of Valmeyer, Illinois, Rose (Dennis) Wilson of St. Charles, Donna Kaye (Jerry) Burns of West Alton, Virginia (Val) Symonds of Illinois, and Linda Kavanagh of Troy; 24 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; son-in-law John Sheahan and daughter-in-law Dian Boschert.  Mary was proceeded in death by her parents Luther and Mary Fuel, one son, Karl Boschert, and one daughter, Martha Lopez, and three grandchildren, James, Johnny Joe, and Ryan.  A host of family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow funeral service at Little Brushy Cemetery of Wappapello, Missouri.  Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home of Poplar Bluff are assisting in all arrangements.
