Joyce Lenett Duncan

Joyce Lenett Duncan, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, arrived in the arms of Jesus, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Oakdale Skilled Nursing Facility.

Joyce a registered nurse for more than 50 years, went on 21 International Mission Trips plus a multitude of state side mission trips. Nurse Joyce’s life was dedicated to the service of others. She was a charter member of the Baptist Nursing Fellowship, organized in 1983 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She also served as President of the organization from 1989 – 1991.

For ten years during the summer, she served as camp nurse at Windemere Baptist Assembly which is now called Encounter Cove. When Joyce was not on a mission trip she was teaching Sunday School. Joyce was an active member of First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Joyce is survived by her brother: Herman Lloyd Duncan of Lebanon; her dear friend of over 40 years: Judith Carpenter; and several nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents: Rufus and Ruth Duncan, three brothers: George Duncan, Authur Duncan, and Raymond Duncan; and two sisters: Beatrice Snider, and Naomi Snider. A host of family and friends also survive.
