Esther M (Gilmore) Duckett

Esther M. Duckett, 78, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri with her loving son by her side.

Esther was born March 28, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, to Ray Calvin Gilmore and Myrtle Viola (Breeden) Gilmore.  Esther married John Duckett on July 2, 1966, in Poplar Bluff.

Esther was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a life-time resident of Poplar Bluff.  She enjoyed drawing and loved to read.  Esther especially loved to spend time with her family.

Esther is survived by her son Robert (Jo-Andrea) Duckett of Poplar Bluff; one brother Virgil (Linda) Gilmore of Poplar Bluff; three sisters: Ruth (Bill) Dee, Martha Darnell, and Marg Odom all of Poplar Bluff; and two grandsons: Seth Duckett and Caleb Duckett both of Alaska.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Ray and Myrtle Gilmore; her husband John Duckett; two brothers: Philip “Dude” Gilmore and Elvis Gilmore; and one sister: Luetta Gilmore.  A host of family and friends also survive.

The family asked for donations to be made to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Poplar Bluff instead of flowers.
