Zora Mae Fred

Zora Mae Fred, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday October 26, 2015 at Cedar Gate Nursing Facility. She was born January 23, 1931 in Wayne County to the late James Boyer and Maude Durrow Boyer. She was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff. Her husband, Gale C. Fred, preceded her in death December of 1981. Zora retired from the Lucy Lee Hospital housekeeping department. Surviving are one son, David Fred; two daughters, Loretta Godfrey and Lucille Medres all of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Richard Boyer and George Boyer both of Elsinore, Mo.; two sisters, Wilma Greenwall of Aurora, Ill. and Bonnie Greenwall of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Delores Wolfe and one sister, Zella Bilbrey. A visitation will be Wednesday from 10-11 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel followed with the funeral service at 11 A.M. Rev. Helen Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
