William R. Scheerer

William R. Scheerer, 72, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died August 3, 2014 at John J. Pershing V.A. Hospital. He was born Jan. 21, 1942 in St. Louis, Mo. to the late Felix Scheerer and Francis Eichelberger Scheerer. He wqs a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff. He was of the Baptist faith. He married Nadine Bush, May 25, 1999, in Clay County, Ark. She survives. William enjoyed doing restoration of classic cars. and the history of Butler County. Also surviving are one son, Chris Scheerer of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Cindy Reed of Herculaneum, Mo.; one brother, Robert Shceerer of St. Joseph, Mo.; one sister, Margaret Reed of St. Joseph, Mo.; one step-son, Bill Vancil of Doniphan; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday at 10 AM at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Pastor Brian Parkey will officiate. Burial will be at the Mo. State Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Judes Children's Hospital.
