Vallie J. Johnson

Vallie J. Johnson, 96, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died March 7, 2014, in Festus, Mo. Vallie was born September 11, 1917 in Tupelo, Miss. to the late Burley Smith and Martha Lou Clark Smith. She was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was of the baptist faith. She worked on the assembley line for Bussman Fuse Co. before retiring. She enjoyed buying and selling antiques. She is survived by two sons; Jerry Wilson of Festus, Mo. and Clif Wilson of Desoto, Mo.; two daughters; Tona Arnold of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Betty Fracilla of St. Louis, Mo.; ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Johnson, who died in October 1950. A visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 10-11 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a graveside service at 12 noon, Tuesday, at the Center Hill Cemetery in Fairdealing, Mo.
