immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Tonya. Tonya Pauline Michel was given life by her Creator and was born on August 6, 1974, the child of Vickie Smith. On December 7, 1997, she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God, publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed, and received the precious gift of the Lord's lifegiving body and blood. On December 20, 1997, she received the gift of a companion in her spouse Michael Michel. She was blessed with the gift of children, Jessica and Jedidiah. God blessed Tonya with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. Finally, on September 23 God blessed Tonya with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister, Tonya. Tonya enjoyed scrapbooking, baking, hunting and fishing, and being a mother. Visitation will be Friday 10-11 AM at Zion Luthren Church followed by the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Marty Reed officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home. The family request memorials for a scholarship fund for the Michel children.
