Shirley Joyce (Ogden) White

Shirley Joyce White, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on February 5, 2025.

Shirley was born February 9, 1948, to Elbert Allen Ogden and Minnie (Middleton) Ogden.  On February 16, 1963, she married James Carl Whie, he preceded her in death in 2014.

She had a passion for visiting flea markets, yard sales and watching Little House on the Prairie.  She enjoyed gamefowl, going on road trips with her special friend Chrome, and taking the occasional trip to the casino with her sister, Carolyn.  She was employed at Smiley Container and then moved into health care.  Showing her children that with straight forward honest and a hard work ethic that they can be successful in life.

Shirley was a devoted mother to three children, James “PeeWee” (Tracy), Teresa (Danny) Fleener, and Greg White.  She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ronnie Porter, Steve White, Brandon White, Jaime White, and Shelly (Coulter) Gaebler; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and baby “G” on the way; and her dog Charlie.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.
