Ruth L. Dee

Mrs. Ruth L. (Gilmore) Dee, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Aspire Senior Living in Poplar Bluff, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 26, 1933 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Ray C. and Myrtle V. (Breeden) Gilmore.  She married William (Bill) Dee Sr. December 23, 1950.

Mrs. Dee was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Oak Grove Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

She had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening, reading, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, fishing, and square dancing. But she loved her grandchildren and spending time with them as well as her other family and friends, especially at Christmas time.

She is survived by her loving husband Bill Dee, of 73 years, 9 months and 16 days, her daughter Sharron (Doug) McClurg of Lake Wales, Florida and her son William (Bill) Dee Jr. of Williamsville, Mo., her two grandsons; Jeremy (Heidi) Dee, Fountian Hills, AZ and Nathan Dee of Williamsville., two sisters; Margret Odom, Martha Darnell, and one brother; Virgil Gilmore, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Dude Gilmore, Elvis Gilmore, two sisters; Esther Ducket, and Bertha Luetta Gilmore.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 1pm to 2pm at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services at 2pm.
