Ruby J. Williams,92, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died August 19, 2016 at Cedar Gate Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 7, 1923 at Chaonia, Mo. to the late Benjamin Barks and Frances Underwood Barks. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church. Ruby was married to Namon F. Wilkerson in Greenville, Mo. He preceded her in death. She then married Joseph E. Williams in Paragould, Ark. He also preceded her in death. Before retiring she did product introduction and demonstration for Wal-Mart. She enjoyed attending church, volunteered at the V.A. Hospital, being with her grandchildren, bowling, making candy and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy L. Williams of Apex, NC., and Kim Williams of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Betty F. Wilkerson of Granby, Mo.; one brother, Norman C. Barks of Piedmont, Mo.; one sister Dorothy Imogene Barker of Neelyville, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Edwin E. Williams: three brothers, Lester K. Barks, Jesse W. Barks, and Charles O. Barks; four sisters, Iva E. Barks, Eva E. Wilkerson, Stella O. Atnip, and Vernicce L. Gentry. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 P.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday at 1 P.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home. The Rev. John Crowley will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
