Ronald L. Cummings

October 30, 2013. He was born July 19, 1938 in Temple, Texas to A. Lee Cummings and Mary Lucille Gressett Cummings. They preceded him in death. Ron Married Judy Shaver July 4, 1963. She survives. Ron was a 1963 graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Tx. After graduation he joined the National Guard achieving the rank of leutenant. Later he became a trainer in the officer's training program for the regular army at Fort Benning, Ga. Before moving to Poplar Bluff, Mo. to start a career in Real Estate, he was a sales manager for Dun and Bradstreet for thirteen years. He was a member of Butler County Council for the Elderly, Handicapped and Disabled, a past member of the Poplar Bluff Rotary Club, a member of the Three Rivers Shrine Club, a past member of the Three Rivers Board of Realtors, and treasurer of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Ron enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing as an owner and spent many winters in Hot Springs, Ar. during racing season. He most enjoyed his family and provided many unforgettable vacations in Colorado, Florida and Current River. He will be greatly missed. He is also survived by one son, Marc Allan Cummings and Kara of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Christy Lynn Reid and William of Faribault, Mn., and Kimberly Lee Wiseman and Greg of Poplar Bluff; eight grandchildren, Joseph Reid, Benjamin Reid, Timothy Reid, Emily Wiseman, Alexander Wiseman, Elleanna Wiseman, Coleman Cummings, and Stella Cummings. A memorial service will be held at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Van Buren at 3:00 P.M.
