Robert James Chambers

Robert James Chambers, 63, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, peacefully in is home.

He was born July 27, 1960, in West Branch, Michigan to William Chambers and Opal (Bluntschly) Chambers.

Robert had lived in Michigan most of his life, until coming to Poplar Bluff three years ago.  He loved to hang out with his friends and family.  He loved his animals so much, going fishing, and riding his bike around town.  He was a jokester and loved to make people laugh.

Robert is survived by his fiancée: Alma Thomas of Poplar Bluff; two sisters: Deb Chambers and Shannon (Robert Bidwell and Maci Bidwell) all of Midland, Michigan; one stepdaughter: Amanda Moore of Poplar Bluff; two nephews: William (Rose Mason) Holzschuh of Ashley, Michigan and Chase (Brittany Lott) Holzschuh of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; one aunt: Shirley Plessner of Essexville, Michigan; and many cousins.  He is preceded in death by his parents: William and Opal Chambers; two life partners: Shirley Colpean and Karen Farrar; his best friends Christopher Thomas and Peter Brown; one stepson; Albert Moore; many aunts, uncles and cousins.  A host of family and friends also survive.

Robert had a heart of gold.  He would have done anything for anyone in a heartbeat.  Robert has left an imprint on everyone he met and will be deeply missed and loved forever.

There are no services scheduled at this time.  Fitch-Hillis funeral home is assisting with all arrangements.
