Ralph Edward Allison, 84, of Garland, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

He was born on May 15, 1940, in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, to Wesley “Leroy” Allison and Elizabeth (Hazlett) Allison.  Ralph married Evelyn Gaston on July 25, 1964, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Ralph attended Woodcreek Church in Richardson and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Poplar Bluff.  He was very active in his community, as a member of Rotary, AAU Track Club, Member of Money Makers, he ran bingo for Amvets in Poplar Bluff, he was active with the Poplar Bluff Museum, he was on the board of directors for Ozark Federal Credit Union as well as the Poplar Bluff School Board.  He loved gardening and golfing in his spare time.  Ralph had a forestry degree from Penn State and was a forester with the U.S. Forest Service for over 30 years before doing forestry consulting for another 15 years.  He served in the United States Army from 1963 – 1965.  Ralph especially loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Ralph is survived by one son, Lee Allison of Miami, Florida; one daughter Tina (David) Mootz of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, James Leroy Allison, Howard Hazlett Allison, and Charles Richard Allison; four sisters, Jane Allison Gilmore, Mary Allison Bowers, Susan Allison Zola, and Edna Allison Weissman as well as three grandchildren (Cole Mootz, Grant Mootz and Anna Allison)  He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Allison; his parents, Wesley and Elizabeth Allison; four brothers, John Robert Allison, William Hugh Allison, Sam Merle Allison, and David Albert Allison; and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Allison Stanley.  A host of family and friends survive.

The family request that donations be made in Ralph’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to plant a tree through the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home website.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with full military honors with Pastor John Gregory officiating.  Please meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to go to the cemetery in procession.  Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements.

Additionally, a Celebration of Life will take place at Woodcreek Church 3400 E Renner Rd, Richardson, TX  75082 on Monday, February 17th at 10 am.
