Quita Lilena Mahoney

Quita Lilena Mahoney, 55, of Athens, Alabama, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Quita was born March 27, 1969, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Roy “Smokey” Mahoney and Nancie (Hart) Mahoney.

She grew up in Yuma, Arizona and was a barrel racer in her younger days.  Quita would also show her standard poodle, Jubilee, at dog shows. Quita loved animals, especially dogs, and supported animal rescues and shelters.  She also enjoyed collecting antiques and traveling. She worked over two decades as a cashier at Fry’s Grocery chain and in that time developed many special friendships.

Quita is survived by family and many dear friends that loved and cared for her.  She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Nancie Mahoney.

Per Quita’s wishes, no funeral services are planned.  Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home of Poplar Bluff are assisting in all arrangements.
