Oscar E. Casinger

January 30, 1930 — December 22, 2013

was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Coon Island Township, Neelyville, Mo. to Charles and Lula D. Butler Casinger. Mr. Casinger was an Army veteran of the Korean War. August 23, 1952 he married Lois Nelson she survives. Before retiring, Oscar was a mill wright welder for Hamilton Sunstrand Aviation. Mr. Casinger was a member of the Friendship General Baptist Church of Coon Island. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and recounting stories of his childhood. Other survivors include one daughter Kathy Veer, of South Carolina; three sons; Joseph Casinger (Muriel) , James Casinger (Ray Ann) and Gerald Casinger all of Ill., six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. One sister Sophia Britton of Poplar Bluff, Mo. Visitation will be 10 am to 11 am Thursday Dec. 12, 2013 at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral at 11a.m. with Rev. Allen Leutert officiating. Burial will follow at Coon Island Cemetery.
