Mrs. Gladys Slinkard of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Nov. 25, 2011. She was born Dec. 24, 1913. Mrs. Slinkard was proud to have been born and lived her whole life in Poplar Bluff. She was of the Baptist faith and was baptised in Black River. She retired as a vamper from the Florsheim Shoe Factory. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, crocheting and cooking. She was married to Jesse Walter Nely in May of 1930. He preceded her in death. She later married William Howard Slinkard in Oct. 1959 in Poplar Bluff. He also preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents Eva Mae Gamble Williams and Oscar Frank Williams. Two sons, Donald E. Nely and Frank Walter Nely. One daughter, Marjorie Fay Major. Three brothers, Zelbert R. Williams, Clyde R. Williams and Clifford O. Williams; three sisters, Irene Gibbons, Lena M. Gamble, and Luvene Korchon. Surviving are one stepson, Keith Slinkard of North Carolina; two daughters Eva Frances Merritt of Fortworth, Tx, JoAnn Gibbs of Poplar Bluff, and one Stepdaughter, Sharon Kohr of Wright City, Mo. "Thirteen grandchildren Debbie, Chuck, Joan, Becky, Tod, Don Keith, Margie, Margaret, Lori, Stan, Lesley, Paula, and Lynn. Also several great-grandchildren and many neices and nephews
