Williamsville

Michael Earl Russell who lived in Williamsville, Missouri, born June 9, 1953 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died in a house fire at his home Saturday morning, March 23, 2024.

Mike, or Rustler, as he was called, was raised in Poplar Bluff as a child and moved with the rest of the family to Holliday Landing Resort and attended Greenville High School before graduating and joining the US Army. After that he had various jobs around Saint Louis, Cape Girardeau, and Colorado, before moving to Springfield, Missouri and becoming a full time truck driver, which he did for years. Then he moved back to Greenville and helped take care of his Mother, Pat, and they had a few good years hanging out and enjoying one another’s company. Then Mike started doing Chainsaw Art, and bought his house in Williamsville. Mike was loved by many in the Williamsville community and was happy there. He even received a Good Neighbor Award. He had times when his health got him down, but that wouldn’t usually last for long. Mike loved Music, Art, History, and his friends. His Chainsaw Art is spread around so he will be remembered by many.

He is survived by his Son, Matthew Russell and wife Meghan, and three grandchildren Carter, Crisalyn and Chloe of Springfield, Missouri, his Son Stacy Liles and wife Amy, and granddaughter Rian of Denver, Colorado, his Daughter, Ashley Pearson of Springfield, Missouri, two Brothers, Sidney Madison Russell of Greenville and Dallas Brown Russell of Ellsinore, and nieces and nephews who loved him. He was preceded in death by his Father Robert Sidney Russell, his Mother Patricia Brown Russell, and his Sister Aaron Lynn Talley Miller. Mike had many friends in Poplar Bluff, Cape Girardeau, Saint Louis, and especially In Springfield, Missouri. As a truck driver he knew people all over the country. There was much more to his life than can be described here.
