Mary Newman

Mary Newman, 83, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Westwood Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born July 28, 1935 in Kennett, MO to the late Alton Lester Long and OPal Collins Long.  Mary was a long time resident of Butler County.  She was a member of the South Side Assembly of God Church.

She married Jessie L. Newman December 6, 1952 in Paragould, AR.  He preceded her in death.

Mary was a teachers aid at Poplar Bluff Jr. High School.

She is survived by three sons, Tim Newman (Nancy) of Ellisnore, MO, Ted Newman (Tammie) of Poplar Bluff, and Tom Newman (Sherrie) of Doniphan; one daughter, Susan Annette Stoker (Vernon) of Senath, MO; one sister Jone Pickens of Springfield, MO; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be at 11:00 am on Monday, January 28 at South Side Assembly of God Church.  The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM Rev. Mark McMinn, Rev. Randy Cowart, Ross Goins and Rev. Jerry Lemons will officiate.  Burial will be at Memorial Gardens.
