Mary Ellen Johnson

Mary Ellen Johnson, 38, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mary was born January 13, 1986 in Jerseyville, Illinois to Jeffery Craig Johnson and Vernita (Dillman) Figge

She enjoyed doing craft projects and giving everything a little bling it, she loved to go shopping.  Mary was a natural entrepreneur; she was a professional custodian; she took pride in her work and was a perfectionist at heart.  She loved spending time with her kids, loved the outdoors, enjoyed going camping with her family and friends every chance she had.  Mary especially loved all of her children, and spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by six daughters: Lillian (Joseph) Spurlock, Amber Gregory, and Autumn Gregory of Illinois, Brittany Johnson, Brylea Johnson, and Trinity Johnson; her mother Vernita (James) Figge; two brothers Jason Johnson of Poplar Bluff, and Juston (Serena) Foutch of Illinois; two sisters Dawn (Mitchel) Austad of Montana, and Jennifer Carter of Mayfield, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.  Mary was proceeded in death by her father: Jeffery Johnson; one son, CJ Johnson; paternal grandparents: James and Barb Figge; maternal grandmother: Betty Dianne Seehausen; one uncle, Brad Johnson; and four aunts: Betty Seehausen, Monica Foutch, Jody Foutch, and Vicky Larsen.  A host of family and friends also survive Mary.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel.  Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting in all arrangements.
