Mary E. Burton

Mary E. Burton, 66, a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Friday, March 2, 2012 at her residence after a brief fight with cancer. Mrs. Burton was born July 15, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed painting, quilting, cooking, baking, sewing, and gardening. On December 13, 1965, she married Lee Burton in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He survives. Other survivors are three daughters: Lori Herridge and husband Paul, of Shallotte, North Carolina; Robin Littlejohn of Poplar Bluff, and Kristy Burton of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Phyllis Willard of Fredonia, Kansas; and five grandchildren, Nicole, Noelle, and Jordan Herridge all of Shallotte, North Carolina; Savannah Burton of Poplar Bluff, and Tyler Littlejohn of Poplar Bluff. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Scott and Phoebe Newingham and one brother-in-law, Junior Willard..
