Loretta Jane Edwards

Loretta Jane Edwards, 79, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Wednesday May 3, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Joseph O’Herrick and Elizabeth (Devorick) O’Herrick.

Loretta was a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff. She was of the Catholic Faith and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Loretta was Assistant Director of Nursing at Oakdale Care Center for many years. She enjoyed cooking, vacationing at the beach and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She married the love of her life, Lester James Edwards Jr., on July 31, 1965 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Loretta is survived by three sons: James (Carrie) Edwards of Stafford, Virginia, Andrew (Ginger) Edwards of St. Louis and Steve (Jennifer) Edwards of Poplar Bluff; her daughter Karen Romine of Poplar Bluff; her brother Daniel (Marge) O’Herrick of Cary, North Carolina; her sister Colleen Casti of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; eight grandchildren Kevin, Katie-Jane, Kara, Kristen, Jimmy, Katelyn, Nicholas and Maycie; and four great-grandchildren Kynnadi, Everly, Carsen and Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Condolences may be made online at www.fitchhillisfh.com or on the Fitch-Hillis Facebook page.
