Lorene Marie (Mayes) Withrow

Lorene Marie Withrow, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, at Mark Twain Nursing Home.

She was born Aug. 14, 1933, Poplar Bluff, to Johnny Mayes and Edna (Wright) Mayes.

Lorene was a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff. Lorene was a member of the Third Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff, she enjoyed watching movies, cooking, loved her church, loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Lorene is survived by two sons: Johnny (Vicky) Withrow of Williamsville and Terry Withrow of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren: Dena (Darick) White, Jerry (Sue) Cox, Sherry (John) Waltrip, Heather (Roger) Mattingly and Jacob (Kelsey Johnson) Withrow; nine great-grandchildren Alan, Cody, Belle, Jessica, Heather, Amanda, Matt, Andrew and Destiny; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Edna Mayes; her husband Earl Withrow; three children Sandra Cox, Jerry Withrow and Larry Withrow; and four brothers. A host of family and friends also survive.

The family would like to thank Preferred Hospice and the staff at Mark Twain Nursing Home for the love and care showed to Lorene.
