Lois May Johnson

Lois M. Johnson, 88, a long time resident of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at The Manor Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff. Lois was born May 29, 1928 to the late Charles Bilbrey and Elsie Shelton Bilbrey in Shook, Mo. She was a member of the Family Worship Center. She married Henry Johnson July 18, 1945 in Greenville, Mo. He preceded her in death. Lois work on the assembly line at Florsheim Shoe Company. She enjoyed quilting, word find puzzles and playing yatzee. Surviving are two sons, Henry Johnson of Potosi, Mo. and Charles Johnson of Poplar Bluff; four daughters, Diana Mitchell of Qulin, Mo., Joann Smith of Potosi, Mo., Charlotte Stinchcomb and Lorene Swan both of Poplar Bluff; ten grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by one son Robert Johnson, two brothers, Charles Bilbrey and Herman Bilbrey; and one sister Mary Cowin. Visitation will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Rev. Luther Goins will officiate. Burial will be at Hamtown Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home.
