Leslie H Powell

Leslie H. Powell, 63, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021.  He was born May 24, 1958 in Coon Island, MO to the late Ephriam Fredwell Powell and Dorothy Ellen (Kearby) Powell.  He was a longtime resident of Butler County.

He proudly served in the Army.  Leslie married Mary Ann Rider who preceded him in death.  He married Debbie Heritage, who survives.  He worked as a salesman at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.  He was talented with his hands in woodworking, playing music and working on small engines, though he enjoyed the company of friends and family best.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Debbie; son, Travis Eaker of Missouri; two daughters, Melissa Heffington of Minnesota and Angela Gibson of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Manuel Powell of Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Karen Bertholomey and Elsie Rodgers, both of Poplar Bluff and Maragrett Hancock of Jonesboro, Arkansas and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his previous wife, Mary Ann.

Graveside memorial is scheduled for Monday, August 16, 2021 in the Coon Island Cemetery at 11:00AM.  Elder Robert Duckett will be the speaker.  Masks and social distancing are recommended.
