Kristen Nicole Hall Sheubrooks

d. May 30, 2017

Kristen Nicole Hall Sheubrooks, 36, resident of Atlanta and native of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, May 30th, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, MO, with the Rev. Byron Beck officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, June 4th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made in Kristen's honor at http://ucanpb.org. Kristen, a caring mommy to her precious Jack and Zara, was a steadfast rock to her loving husband Rich, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, and talented actor. After completing her undergraduate studies at Mississippi State University, Kristen courageously moved to Los Angeles in 2002 on her own to pursue an acting career. She was successful on stage and film, and was inducted into the Screen Actors Guild. She met the love of her life, Rich, on a warm New Orleans night in 2005. Within days, they included Hawaii in the list of their first date spots. Two years later, in 2007, they were married in St. Louis by the Rev. Byron Beck. In 2009, she and Rich chose Atlanta as the home where they would build their beautiful family, and were blessed with their son, Jack in July of 2010. A few months later, Kristen, Rich, and Jack began a two-year work assignment to Amsterdam, Netherlands. After returning to Atlanta, Kristen, Rich, and Jack were further blessed as they welcomed Zara into their loving family. In April 2015, a short 6 months after Zara was born, Kristen was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She immediately pursued the most advanced and aggressive treatment approaches, guided by the world's top specialists at Sloan Kettering, Emory University, and Massachusetts General / Harvard University. Powered by her characteristic quiet strength, resilience, stamina, and fortitude and motivated by her children, husband, mom, dad, and so many loving family members and friends, Kristen fought. For over two years, Kristen fought for her life, for her family, never losing hope. All those close to her marveled at her quiet strength, unending determination, and her beauty and grace through it all. She became a shining light - a model of resilience and commitment to family, and a tremendous source of inspiration for every life she touched. Kristen is survived by her husband of 10 years, Richard Thomas (Rich); her son, John Richard (Jack); and her daughter, Zara Juliet Sheubrooks, all of the home.
