Joyce L. Absheer

Joyce L. Absheer, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born July 3, 1930 at Broseley, Mo. to the late Leslie Presson and Flossie May Presson. She was a life time resident of Butler County Mo. Joyce was a member of the First Church of God in Poplar Bluff. She married Herbert Absheer April 10, 1953. He preceded her in death October 7, 2002. Joyce was a school teacher employed by the Poplar Bluff School System. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Becky Brent (Keith) of Poplar Bluff, and Susan Forrester (Reid) of Jefferson City, Mo.;two sisters, Mavis Presson of Poplar Bluff,and Carolyn Eddy of Broseley, Mo.; five grandchildren, Stacey Bruce (David), Kelley Brent (Shawn), Jeff Brent, Beth Forrester, and Leslie Gragg (Seth); and three great-grandchildren, Drew Brown, Dylan Brown and Logan Brent. Besides her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Coy Presson and Kenny Presson. A visitation will be Wed. March 23, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. also in the chapel. The Rev. Vernon Kneir will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. .
