Jennie Colter

Jennie V. Colter, 96 of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Sunday July 9, 2017 at Westwood Hills Health Care Center. She was born Sept. 12, 1920 in Saginaw, Mi. to the late Nichodemus Eilf and Anna Miller Eilf. She was a long time resident of Butler County. She was of the Southern Baptist faith. Jennie married Charles T. Colter July 30, 1941 in Bollingreen, Ohio. He preceded her in death Dec. 1995. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning. Jennie is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Tubbs of Harviell, Mo.; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by two sons, Richard E. Colter, and Charles T. Colter, Jr.; two brothers, Nick Eiolf and Peter Eilf; and one sister, Josie Miller. A visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Bill Orr will officiate.
