March 7, 2014 in Poplar Bluff. Jean was born Feb. 8, 1936 in Hammond, Ind. to the late George and Katherine Stickel. Jean was a member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church. She was a library clerk at the Poplar Bluff Library. She loved to read. Jean enjoyed arts and crafts. She was a civic volunteer. She enjoyed her church and helping where needed. She loved her family and life. Surviving are two sons, Edward Parsons (Kathryn) of Bellview, Ill. and William Parsons (Tracy) of Rolla, Mo.; four daughters, Kathryn Skippers (Marc) of Michigan, Barbara Robinson (Michael) of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Helen Buller (Levon) of Virginia, Connie Roberson (Kevin) of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, one daughter, Alice Kay East, preceded her in death. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 - 11 A.M. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 A.M. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church. The Rev. Annette Joseph will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Children's Library Holy Cross Church Headstart, P.O. Box 6, Winona, Mo. 65588.
