James "Eddie" Warren

November 13, 1920 — June 6, 2014

born November 13, 1920 at Williamsville, Mo. to the late P.L. Warren and Flora Casey Warren. James was a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff. He was a member of the First Christian Church. James was an Elder at First Christian Church for 40 years, helped start the Federal Credit Union, worked at the V.A. Hospital before the first patient was there, worked for the Social Security Dept. for 23 years, and was a Boy Scout leader. James served in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and fishing at Black River. He married his wife, Mattie, in 1950 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She preceded him April 7, 2008. He is survived by one son, Curtis Wayne Mcghee of Mt. Olive, Fl.; three daughters, Barbara Winters of Port Angles, Wash., Diana Clanahan of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Vicki Clement of Edmond, Ok.; one brother, Phillip Warren of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; three sisters, Gleta Gorman of Poplar Bluff, MO., Edith Crook of Denver, Co., Mona Zeikle of Higginsville, Mo.; six grandchildren and three grandchildren. A visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. Tuesday, June 3 at the First Christian Church, followed by the funeral service at 11 A.M. The Rev. Jeffery Hammonds will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice at the First Christian Church, 1069 North Main, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
