Irene Hollowell

Irene Hollowell, 85, died October 13, 2012 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. at the Mo. She retired from South Western Bell after 33 years of employment, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Hollowell enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, fishing and shopping. On August 6, 1960, she married Walter Hollowell Jr. He survives. Surviving are one sister Phyllis Johnson of Vanduser, Mo. and her two children Mike Hollowell and Lisa Law and husband, Skeeter. Three grandchildren Jason and wife, Katreen Hollowell, Charissa Hollowell and Jodi Law. Three great grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas and Hailey Hollowell, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Hattie and Elbert Pigman. Her sisters Dorothy Barker, Glendora Fox, Laverle and husband Calvin Bowman, her brothers Herschel and wife Hallie Pigman, and Harold Pigman. Visitation will be at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm. Dr. Bill Vail will officiate.
