Grace Marie (Rose) Barber

Grace Marie Barber, 80, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021.  She was born March 31, 1941 to the late Robert J. Rose and Thelma Lee (Riley) Rose in St. Louis.

A longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, her warm smile as a greeter at Wal-Mart was well known.  She also enjoyed playing bingo and chancing the odds gambling.  Her favorite pastime was being with family and friends.

Grace is survived by one son, Chris Barber of Poplar Bluff; three daughters, Penny Cruz of Memphis, TN, Helen Burroughs of Poplar Bluff and Julia Flood of Kennett, MO; two brothers, Jimmy Rose and Bobby Rose of St. Louis and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce from 5:00PM to 9:00PM.  Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 2:00PM in the Evergreen Cemetery of Chester, IL.  Rev. Matt McFadden will be the speaker.
