Glena V. Funck

Glena Funck, 81, of Desoto, Mo., formerly of Broseley, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at Hillcrest Care Center. She was born Aug. 22, 1935 in Elk, Mo. to the late Doyle Forrest and Myrtle Nations Forrest. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ferguson. She was a graduate of Broseley High School. She moved to St. Louis when she was twenty, then moved to Poplar Bluff in 1994. Glena worked as an office worker at McDonald Douglas for thirty plus years. She was active in the Broseley Historical Society. She enjoyed doing word puzzles, was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping and helping out other people. She is survived by one son, Christopher Funck of Florissant, Mo.; one daughter Christina Shelley of Hillsboro, Mo. and four grandsons. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Berlie Forrest, Bernard Forrest, J.D. Forrest, Coy Forrest, and Oral Forrest. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Deacon Chuck Lambert will officiate Burial will be at Mole Hill Cemetery.
