George E. Ray

at his home where he lived for the past 42 years. George spent the earlier years of his life serving in the Army during World War II and the Korean War where he became a Staff Sergeant. In his civilian life he worked at various jobs and retired from the Florsheim Shoe Company in 1975. He married Eva M. (Reed) Ray on March 27, 1970. He is survived by his wife, Eva Ray, five children; Raymond Lee Ray (Kathy) of Sherwood, AR., George Daniel Ray (Debbie) of Jacksonville, AR., Martha Diane Collins, of Willliamsville, MO., Renna Jane Gordon (Tommy) of Poplar Bluff, MO., Vicki Lynn Strode (Bob) of Wentzville, MO., and one step child, Ronald Dean Wright (Patty) of Grandin, MO.; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Dora Bell (Norris) Ray, three brothers, three sisters, one step daughter, and one grandson. Visitation 5pm to 7 pm Tuesday June 17th in the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel. The funeral service is at 11 am Wednesday. Bro. Kenny Durham officiating. Burial at City Cem..
