Gayle D. Cates

Gayle D. Cates, 72, of Ellsinore, MO, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born in St. Charles, MO to the late Eursel Alvil Cate and Geraldine (Brown) Cate. He was a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff and was of the Pentecostal faith. He served our nation in the Army. His favorite things to do were ride Harleys, breaking horses and making music. Gayle is survived by one son, Jason D. Cate of Flint, MI; two daughters, Lynetta R. Cate of Flint, MI and Chyanne Cate of Florida; two brothers, Robert Cate of Malden, MO and Randy L. Cate of Rogersville, MO as well as six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Charlotte Vernon and Fonda Cate. Visitation is scheduled Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Fitch-Hillis Chapel with services to follow at 12:00 PM. The Rev. Mark Boyd will be the officiant. Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Missouri Veteran Cemetery of Bloomfield. Social distancing and masks are recommended.
