Evea May Payne, 94, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at Mark Twain Nursing Home. She was born December 5, 1921 in Oxly, Mo. to the late Louis Henne Ogilvie and Laura Page Ogilvie. Evea was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff. She was a member of the First Church of God. She married Thomas O. Payne February 16, 1941 in Corning, Ar. He preceded her in death. Evea was a beautician. She was owner and operator of her own shop. She enjoyed crocheting, painting and watching cardinal baseball. She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Young (Larry) of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Marjorie Willcut of Poplar Bluff and Pansy L. Hart of Cedar Park, Tx. and 13 grandchildren, Misty White, Danielle Sprous, Matthew Young, Larry Young II, Bobby Baugh, Jimmy Baugh, Allen Baugh, John Baugh, Lori Kovach, Larry Payne, Vicki Walker, Gina Rogers, and Amanda Vinson; 25 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Thomas Payne; one daughter, Laura May Baugh; 5 sisters, Carol L. Binkley, Pasty Kraft, Mary Vinson, Helen Chronister and Juanita Ogilvie. Visitation will be Friday at 10 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11 A.M. Bobby Baugh will officiate at the service. Burial will be at Duley Cemetery.
