Eva Catherine Sparks

Eva Catherine Sparks, 89, of Hillard, Mo., died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at her residence. A lifetime resident of Butler County, Mrs. Sparks was the owner/operator of Hillard Grocery in Hillard. She also taught school at Bluewater; she was a member of the Geneology Society of Butler County. Mrs. Sparks other interests included sewing, crochet, gardening and church work. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The daughter of William T. Magill and Lida (Fuller) Magill. Mrs. Sparks was born on December 12. 1921, at Henderickson, Mo. On April 26. 1942, she married Granvil D. Sparks. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Hicks and husband, Edward Hicks II; four sons, David Sparks and wife, Betty, Daniel Sparks, Dale Sparks and wife, Pat, Dewey Sparks and wife, Lee, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Many grandchildren, Linda Pitt, Chantal Jamieson, Edward Hicks III, Roshelle Kinder, Eric Hicks, James Sparks, Jared Hicks, Randy Sparks, Dodi Riley, Catherine Wood, Adam Sparks, Matthew Sparks, Kimberly Wren, Parker Fowler, Mike Sparks, Mindy Sparks, Steven Sparks, and Luke Sparks; 41 great grandchildren; and one sister, Clara Bell Magill of Puxico, Mo. Mrs. Sparks was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and one sone, Dennis Sparks
