Ernest Pennell, 92, died Nov. 19, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Success, Ar. Dec. 27, 1919. Mr. Pennell was a longtime resident of Butler Co. Mr. Pennell was a member of Pilgrims Rest Church of Fairdealing, Mo. He was the owner-operator of Ernie's Motorway for many years. He was an avid reader, liked traveling, was an expert machinest, liked fruit farming, and enjoyed watching western movies. The biggest joy of his life was his grandchildren. He married Betty Jo Crain April 2, 1943 in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death. Also preceding him were his parents, Forrest and Viola Pennell, and one son, James Edward Pennell. Four brothers; Percy E. Pennell, Don Pennell, Clinton Pennell, Victor Pennell, and one sister; Ruby Altenburg Surviving are two daughters; Barbara Jo Jenkins of Nashville, Tenn. and Victoria Ross of Poplar Bluff, Mo. Three grandchildren; Luke Lavell and Rebekah Pennell Jenkins-Gibbs of Nashville, Tenn, and Jedidiah Gorton Jenkins of San Diago, Cal.
