Emily Naomi (Raddle) West

Emily Naomi West, 94, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Emily was born June 5, 1930 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, to Vincent H. Raddle and Sylvia (Hammond) Raddle. She married Harold (Hal) West July 1, 1972, in Waterford, Michigan.

She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Poplar Bluff.  She sang in the First United Methodist Choir and was active in the United Methodist Women. Emily and her husband helped formed Lean on Me food pantry in Doniphan.  She was very active in the Ripley County Fair as well as a member of the Flatwoods Extension in Ripley County.  She was on the board of Amity Cemetery in Doniphan.  She was the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2005.  She worked with the American Cancer Society through running the Great American Duck Race in Ripley County for five years.  Emily was active in her community and will be missed by many especially her family.

Emily is survived by one son, Myron (Gunny) Moore of Whitehouse, Texas; one daughter, Sandie (Mike) Price; five grandchildren, Sheldon (Danielle) Price of St. Louis, Taylor (Kaila) Price of St. Charles, Corey (Shannon) Moore of Connecticut, Jennifer (Greg) Garska of Hersey, Michigan, and Steve Moore of Birmingham, Michigan; 10 great-grandchildren, Callum Price, Colson Price, Kya Moore, Teagan Moore, Laila Moore, Poppy Moore, Michael Garska, Gabe (Pricalla) Garska, Toby Garska, and Genevieve Garska, and one great-great-grandchild, Santi Garska.  Emily was proceeded in death by her parents, Vincent and Sylvia Raddle; one son, Billy Gene Moore; one brother and sister-in-law, Vince and Peggy Raddle; and one sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Jerry Badgley.   A host of family and friends also survive.

The family ask that memorials be made in Emily’s name to Lean on Me Food Pantry at 202 W Hwy St, Doniphan, MO 63935 or to the First United Methodist Church Choir of Poplar Bluff.
