Edna Jean Young

Edna Jean Young, 71, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, in her home.

Edna was born August 22, 1952, in Catron, Missouri, to Rosevelt West and Thelma Thomas West.

Edna enjoyed volunteering at Church, helping others, especially inner-city kids, watching tv and movies. She especially enjoyed spiritual programs, but her favorite was ordering Chinese food and watching Bruce Lee karate movies. She enjoyed nature, reading, and sports, especially football.

Edna is survived by her daughter Dawn Hawes of Poplar Bluff, two brothers: Howard Brown, Kenneth (Mary) Thomas, all of Poplar Bluff, four sisters; Kathy Thomas, Jacquelin Jackson, Carolyn (Amiee) Thomas all of Poplar Bluff and Jo Margret (John) Hale of Leesburg, Virginia, two grandchildren; Byron Heath Thomas Jr., Brittley Brion Thomas, three great grandchildren Jaylen Thomas, Zion Thomas, and Brielle Thomas.

Edna was proceeded in death by her parents, Rosevelt and Thelma West, her husband Robert Young, son; Byron Heath Thomas, and sister; Shirley Harley.
