Dorothy Sue (Stonecipher) Mcgowen

Dorothy (Sue) Brady Stonecipher McGowen was born July 3, 1935, in Charleston, Missouri to Owen and Lilly Brady.

Sue was married to James Stonecipher September 17, 1954. While married to James the couple enjoyed spending time at Cloud 9 and taking trips with nephew Joe and wife Iris.  He proceeded her in death October 16, 2005, after 51 years of marriage. Sue later married Artie McGowen 3-10-2013. He preceded her in death 9/7/2019.  Sue was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Poplar Bluff Museum Hall of fame. She was a home maker and enjoyed cooking and caring for her family.  She was also preceded in death by her son Robert Stonecipher July 24,2010 and one brother George (Annabell) Brady.

Sue is survived by one son, Thomas (Marci) Stonecipher; daughter in law, Teresa Stonecipher; nine grandchildren, Shaundel Stonecipher, Stefanie (Todd) Tinsley, Kassie Stonecipher and CJ Hutchison, Kim Stonecipher, Natalie Stonecipher, Tim (Malarie) Stonecipher, TJ (Elizabeth) Stonecipher, Kaysie (Issac) Gebke, and Ian Martinez; eight great grandchildren, Nicholaus Brumitt, Bentley Alford, Ryder Alford, Jay Hutchison, Collyns Hutchison, Harper Stonecipher, Finley Stonecipher, and Alana Stonecipher.

The family would like to thank special nieces, Sherry King and Vickie Brady and special nephew, Owen Brady for being there for her in the time of need.

Visitation will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel.  Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick White officiating the service.  Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.   Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home of Poplar Bluff are assisting in all arrangements.
