Donald L. Barks

Donald Lee Barks, Sr., 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away July 31, 2014. Donald was born in Shook, Mo. to the late Charlie Onard Barks and Dicey Nell Gilbreath Barks. Donald is survived by three grandchildren, Michael Hennen and Donald Lee Barks, III of Poplar Bluff and Amber LeAnn Barks of Kennett and seven great-grandchildren; step-mother, Wanda Barks (Loyd), eight brothers, nine sisters, one step-brother and two step-sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ylonda Switzer Barks, daughter Connie Barks, son Donald Lee Barks, Jr., sisters Helen, Nina and Darlene; brothers, Charley Leo and Delbert Charles, and step-sister Karen Nelson (Bess). Visitation will be Tuesday at 10 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11 A.M. Rev. Everett Gunter will officiate. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
