Clyde Helton

Clyde “Bud” Helton, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Cape Girardeau at his sons home surrounded by his loving family.

Clyde was born March 7, 1944, in Poplar Bluff, to Clyde Helton and Evelyn (Smith) Helton.  He married Cathee Fischer on August 15, 1966, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He attended Ellsinore Community Pentecostal Church, in Ellsinore, Missouri.  Clyde was co-owner of Quality Printing that opened in 1987.  Clyde loved to collect old classic cars, he loved raising cows, he enjoyed being outside.  Clyde loved to spend time with his family, especially facetiming his only great grandson Camden.

Clyde is survived by his wife Cathee (Fischer) Helton; two sons: Robert (Teresa) Helton of Poplar Bluff, and Ryan (Jamie) Helton of Cape Girardeau; one daughter Debbie Yarbrough of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren: Miranda (Aaron) Graham of Des Moines, Iowa, Macey Yarbrough of Brooklyn, New York, Hannah (Ryan) Martin of Somerset, Kentucky, Luke Helton of Cape Girardeau, and Madison (Hunter) Hicks of Lebanon, Missouri; one great grandchild Camden Graham of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister Joyce (James) Huffman of Ellsinore; one very close nephew Russell (Shelly) Phillips of Poplar Bluff.   Clyde was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Evelyn (Smith) Helton, one sister: Lenora “Coo” (Frank) Craig; one brother: Glenn “Rass” Helton; one brother-in-law: Mark (Karen) Fischer.  A host of family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel at 366 College Street, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mike Craig and Pastor James Huffman officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Oak Hill cemetery in Poplar Bluff with full Military Honors.  Fitch-Hillis funeral home is assisting with arrangements.
