Charles Leo Boyer Jr., age 90, a lifetime resident of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday August 3, 2013 at the Oakdale Care Center. Charles was the son of Charles Leo Boyer Sr. and Leona Verhouven Boyer of Poplar Bluff, Mo. He married Novella Welborn November 23, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Mr. Boyer served his country in the Army Air Corp. He was a veteran of both WW II and the Korea. He worked as a mail carrier and enjoyed golf and fishing as hobbies. He was of the catholic faith and was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish. Mr. Boyer was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. His survivors include one son; David Boyer and Nancy of Rancho Cordova, Ca.; and tow daughters; Ellen Cates and Gary, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Linda Counts also of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. Tuesday, Aug. 6th at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel . Funeral services will be at 10 A.M. Tuesday Aug. 6th at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church . Father David Coon officiating. Burial following the service at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials should be to the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery.
