Carolyn Sue (Seesengood) Kearbey

Carolyn Sue Seesengood Kearbey, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, Jan, 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Carolyn was born Feb,24, 1949 to Elmer Seesengood and Mary Jaco.

Carolyn was a member of Twin Springs Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff.  She dedicated many years to the nursing home residents of the VA serving as the activity’s director, up until her retirement.  Carolyn enjoyed going to the beach with friends, getting her nails done, reading, bird watching, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball.  Carolyn especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by two sons, Tim (Shanna) Vanderburg and Steve Hanners, both of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Frank (Rita) Seesengood of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Abby Vanderburg, Morgan, Lucas and Harper Hanners; and one great-grandchild, Olivia Head; one niece, Amy Folsom; one nephew, Jeff Seesengood; and dear friend, Cathy Alford.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Seesengood and Mary Jaco.  A host of family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Jan. 23, 2025, at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel.  Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Jan.23, 2025 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel with Pastor Roger Mayo officiating.  Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with all funeral arrangements.
