Bob Schimweg

Robert “Rockin’ Bob” Schimweg, 65, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 6, 1958, St. Louis, Missouri to Robert Schimweg and Arlene (Rogers) Schimweg.

Bob was a longtime resident of Poplar Bluff.  He enjoyed music, shooting guns, riding dirt bikes and being on the water.  He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.  Bob was the Press Room Department Head for the Daily American Republic before retiring after 24 years of service.

Bob is survived by his wife: Carrie (Sanderson) Schimweg; three daughters: Brandi (Jake) Schimweg of Bonne Terre, Becky Tracy of Bonne Terre and Miranda (Drew) Krueger of Corning, Arkansas; one son: Brandon Krueger of Dubuque, Iowa; four grandchildren: Skylar, Kyra, Maci and Ashlynn; one great-grandchild: Ollie.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Arlene Schimweg.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023  with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7  p.m. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Proctor officiating.  Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
