Bertha E. Bennett

Bertha E. Bennett, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Monday June 17, 2013. She was born August 30, 1937 in Poplar Bluff, Mo, and was a lifetime resident. She was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church. Bertha retired from Lucy Lee Hospital business office. She enjoyed reading and being with family and her church. She married Gordon Bennett August 29, 1954 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, James G. Bennett and wife Rhonda of Port Orchard, Washington; two daughters, Pamela Barnes and husband Curtis,Kimberly Te and husband, Ben all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Betty F. Williams of Brookfield, Mo. and Ruth Gray of Russellville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Shane Barnes and wife Shannon of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Christy Paddock and husband Tim of La., Jordon Bennett and Jennifer Bennett, both of Washington state., and Megan Te of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Zoe and Natalie Barnes of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Lorelei and Jessica Paddock, of Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Viron Hardin and Addie P. Capper Hardin and an infant sister, Virginia Hardin. Visitation will be at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday 10 to 11 a.m. June 20, 2013 followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Steve Proctor will officiate. Burial will be at Ashcraft Cemetery.
