Arthur E. York, Jr.

Arthur E. York, Jr., 87, of Jonesboro, Il., died August 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born December 4, 1927 in Corning, Ar. to the late Arthur E. York, Sr. and Maude Burnham York. He was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Mildred L. Jiles March 2, 1946. She preceded him in death Novemberm2, 2014. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Arthur was a long haul truck driver. He enjoyed wood working and being with his grandchildren. He is survived by two sons, Larry York and wife Vicki of The Woodlands, Tx., and Dennis York and wife Ann of Anna, Il.; five grandchildren, Cassie Cohen, Jennifer York, Jennifer Dearmore, Dennis Lee York, Jessica Thomason; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be Wed., Aug. 26, 2015, at 10:30 AM at the City Cemetery. Pastor Larry York will officiate. Memorials may be made to the United Gospel Rescue Mission at 421 W. Pine Blvd., Poplar Bluff, Mo.
