Alice I (Vanburen) Burgin

Alice I. Burgin, 93, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022.  She was born August 28, 1928 in Poplar Bluff to the late William and Cora (Geans) VanBuren.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She was a loving wife and mother.  She cared for her home full time.  Alice was known for her endearing smile.  She was active in her garden, watching baseball and a good wrestling match.  Family meant the most to her.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Denny J. Burgin.

She is survived by four sons; Larry Winfree, David R. Winfree, Ronnie Burgin (Jeanne) and Bobby Burgin (Darlene), all of Poplar Bluff; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Fitch-Hillis Chapel.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM at the chapel with Rev. Dennis Allen as the speaker.  Burial will be at Old Oak Hill Cemetery.  Masks and social distancing are recommended.
