Joseph A. Hill. Jr., 32, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died March 26, 2017, at his
A memorial service will be Saturday, at 3:00 P.M., April 1, 2017 at Bay
James Edward Boyd, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Thursday, April 27, 2017
at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 10, 1932 at
Rombauer, Mo. to the late Johnny G. Boyd and Elaine Wallace Boyd. He was
a long time resident of Poplar Bluff.
He married Ann Marie Wiss July 14, 1956 in San Diego, Cal. She preceded
him in death Feb.12, 2010.
James was proud to have served in the United States Navy.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three sons, James Boyd of Poplar Bluff, John Boyd of St.
Genevieve, and Jeff Boyd of Endwell, New York: seven grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
A visitation will be Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis
Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral will follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at
Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Helen Moore, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Chicago, Il. died May 8,
2017 at Westwood Hills Health Center. She was born December 7, 1926 in
Delhi, Louisiana. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the
Grace Conservative Baptist Church in Chicago.
She was married to Frank W. Moore. He preceded her in death .
Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed being with her children and
Surviving are two sons, Frank Moore of Poplar Bluff and Ernest Moore of
Chicago; two daughters, Brenda Patterson of Poplar Bluff and Delois Essex
of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughterl-in-law, Eun Ju Moore, and Sonja Moore, 13
grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Ronald Moore and Roger Moore.
A visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. Sat. May 27, 2017 at Fitch-Hillis Funeral
Home Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 P.M. Burial will be at
Hadley Andrew Barber, 79, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away at his home on
Monday, May 15, 2017.
Mr. Barber was born, June 27, 1937 at his parent’s home in Butler County,
Mo. and his life was transformed by the Holy Spirit in 1993 when God
changed his life to serve the Lord.
Hadley is survived by his wife, Betty (Gilbert-Knowles) Barber of 31 years
where they shared their life in Poplar Bluff and with his faithful companion,
Maggie, in his lap and bedside throughout the years.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Braidy and Jewell Barber, two sisters;
Pauline Mhyre and Nancy Hellums, all of Poplar Bluff.
He is survived by four children Jennifer and James Waggoner of West Fork,
Ark. and her mother Belva Jewell, of Poplar Buff, Mo., Tracy Quinter of
Patterson, Hadley Anthony and Janel Barber of Neelyville and their mother
Barbara Hook of Poplar Bluff, and Holly and Gary Honey of St. Louis, Mo.,
13 grandchildren, 16 great;grandchildren, one sister, Mavis and Ray David
Dugal of Poplar Bluff and several nieces and nephews.
Hadley was a carpenter craftsman and loved to play music with his guitar. He
was an accomplished western artist and life-long St. Louis’ Cardinals fan. He
was an elder of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will be at the 1st Presbyterian Church, 301 N. Main, Poplar Bluff,
Mo. on Friday, May 19 at 10 a.m. with the funeral following at 11 a.m. with
Bishop Kent Miller of the Palace of Praise officiating. Graveside is Poplar
Bluff City Cemetery. Lunch immediately after the graveside, will be provided
for family and friends at the church in the fellowship hall.

Kenneth Lee Burke, 89, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. formerly of Pontiac, Mi. died
Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the Mo. State Veteran's Home. He was born May
19, 1927 in Dexter, Mo. to the late John J. Burke and Clara Etta Pyle Burke.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He married Lera Nell Carr March 18, 1946 in Piggott, Ar. She preceded him
Kenneth served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a heavy
press utility operator at Pontiac Motors, Pontiac Division of General Motors
in Pontiac, Mi. He enjoyed traveling with the Senior Citizens Tours.
He is survived by two nephews, Bill Carr and Albert Carr; nine nieces, Norma
Sue Woods, Joyce Mungle, Shirley Mungle, Daisy Redman, Judy Murphy,
Janice Lankford, Faye Loree, Deloris Dalgren (Dan) and Kathren Shepard;
several great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
A visitation will be Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Fitch-Hillis
Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. Rev.
Brandon Spain of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at City
Sandra Kay Warren, 59, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at
her residence. She was born Nov. 29, 1957 in San Bernardino, CA. to the
late Bill Levi Minchew and Katherine Roberta Thompson Minchew. She was
a long time resident of Poplar Bluff.
Nov. 3, 1979 she married Richard Warren in Montclair, CA. He survives.
Sandra was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Richard Carrol Minchew of
CA.; two brothers, Mike Minchew of Poplar Bluff, and Bill Minchew of
Ontario, CA.; one sister, Marsha Warren of Poplar Bluff; and one grandchild.
A visitation will be at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Fitch-Hillis
Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. The
Rev. Kenny Lee will officiate. Burial will be at Kinsey Cemetery.
Anna Lee Morgan, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at
Westwood Hills Health Care Center. She was born June 24, 1932 in Arab,
Mo. to the late Cleatus Hendrix and Thelma Gobble Hendrix. She was a long
time resident of Poplar Bluff. She was of the Methodist faith.
Anna married Shannon Keith Morgan Dec. 11, 1948 in Ark. He preceded her

Myrtle Shaw, 86, of Broseley, Mo. died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at her
residence. She was born September 23, 1930 in Morocco, Mo. to the late
Charley Woods and Flora House Woods. Myrtle was a life time resident of
Butler County. She attended New Life Ministries Church.
She married Willie Shaw June 14, 1948 in Hackett, Ar. He preceded her in
Myrtle was a nurses aid and worked for Butler County Health. She enjoyed
gardening, cooking, and baking cakes.
She is survived by one son, Shawn Shaw of Kansas City, Mo.; three
daughters, Patricia Jordon of Calumet Park, Ill., Venessa Shaw of Tacoma,
Wa., and Anita Shaw Montgomery of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Carrie
McCombs of Poplar Bluff, and Gladys Reed of Grandview, Mo.; 16
grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and four Great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by one
daughter, Belinda Gilmore.
Visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Power
House Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. Chaplain Ken
Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at City Cemetery
