Johnny W. Moore, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died May 6, 2014. He was
born October 1, 1924 in Hendrickson, Mo. to the late John W. Moore
and Thurza Fudge Moore. He was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff.
Before retiring, Johnny had worked in Texas schools and was
employed by the Poplar Bluff School district as a maintenance worker.
He enjoyed working in the yard and loved to fish.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Sandy Anderson of Poplar Bluff,
Mo.; one brother, Delford Moore of St. Louis; and several nieces,
nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews,
and a loving home maker, Margaret Colter, all who loved him
Johnny was preceded by three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be at 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Fitch-Hillis Funeral
Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. at Three Springs
Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Mayes will officiate.
Jerry W. Noble, 48, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at his

Alice G. Gourley, 91, of St. Louis, Mo. died Wednesday, May 7,
2014. She was born March 14, 1923 in Butler County, to the late
Juddy Hager and Alma Cochran Hager. Alice was of the Baptist

one daughter Deloris Tolliver of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren,
Nichole Rauch, Brian Gourley, and Michael Tolliver; two
great-grandchildren, Hanna Rauch and Taylor Hanson; a niece
Donna Ross, and nephew Darrell Hager.
Sadly she was preceded in death by one brother Gerald Hager and
one granddaughter, Micah Hanson.
Visitation will be at 10 to 11 am Monday, May 12, 2014 at
Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral will follow at 11 am
with the Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating. Burial will be at Cochran
Neva V. Blackwell, 104, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Thursday, May
15, 2014. She was born July 9, 1909 in rural Williamsville area.
She attended the one room Black River School near Keener thru 8th
grade, then came to Poplar Bluff where she attended one year of
high school. She joined the First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff in
1947. In 1932, she married Oren Blackwell who was from
Piedmont. They made their home in Poplar Bluff. She had various
jobs over the years, the most recent job which she enjoyed very
much was being assistant to the dentist, Dr. Bob Casey. She retired
from that job. Her hobbies in earlier years included cooking and
sewing. She partly attributes her longevity to staying active and
healthy eating habits...cooking and eating a lot fresh fruits and
vegetables and doing everything her doctor told her to do. She is
survived by several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother,
Lennis Hedspeth, and one sister Iva Kearbey.
There will be a graveside service, May 24, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at
City Cemetery. Dr. William Vail will officiate.
May 24, 2014 at his home. He was born November 26, 1934 to the
late Vollie and Helen Black Million in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was a
long time resident of Butler County.
He was a mechanic, a construction worker, and a professional bird
dog trainer. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On May 16, 1983 he married Joann Owens. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Marty (Leah) Million of Ellsinore, Mo.,
Gary (Kathy) Million of Crump, Tn.; one step son, Jim (Stacy)
Owens of Williamsville; two sisters, Betty (Dwayne) Wallace and
Cheryl (Frank) White all of Ellsinore; and seven grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two
daughters, Sharon Wiley and Shelia Linke, and one grandson, Robbie
